From Strength To Strength: Getting Support From Senior Leaders, Middle Managers, & Individual Contributors

Eighty percent of the diversity manager’s job is building relationships with people inside and outside the organisation who have a stake in creating a diverse, inclusive working environment and can help make it happen. The three most important stakeholder groups are those comprising the workforce itself: the senior leadership team, middle managers, and the grassroots, (i.e., the rest of the employee base). Getting their support for diversity and inclusion efforts depends entirely on demonstrating to them why these efforts are important to them, personally.
