Professional Experience & Goals:
H. Juanita (Nita) M. Beecher is the compliance chair for Mercer's ORC U.S. diversity networks, and chair of the Employment Law & Litigation Group (ELLG), a network of senior corporate in-house labor and employment lawyers. She has more than 25 years' experience in labor and employment law, particularly with class investigations by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). After serving as an in-house counsel in major corporations for more than 20 years, Ms. Beecher joined ORC (now Mercer) in 2000, and became the chair of the ELLG in 2003. In her role as compliance chair, she works with the OFCCP and the EEOC on matters of interest to WON and ELLG members. Her corporate experience includes positions at E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, the Consolidation Coal Company, Arch Mineral (now Arch Coal), and McDonnell Douglas/The Boeing Company. Ms. Beecher holds an A.B. degree in Latin from the University of North Carolina and a law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill. She is a member of the American Bar Association and its EEO subdivision. She is admitted to the bar in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
