Nita Beecher, ORC Worldwide, will give an update on legislative and regulatory compliance issues arising since the last meeting, and members will have an opportunity for roundtable on any other compliance-related topics.

 

Topics include:

 

E-Verify-New Rules for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors
• ADAAA regulations and increased focus on disability discrimination
• What EEO issues have been raised by economic downturn

 

9:30 AM Latest Perspective from OFCCP (Not Available)

 

Sandra Zeigler, Midwest Regional Director of OFCCP, will discuss the areas she believes contractors should be concerned about and will answer questions about what she sees as the major areas of focus for OFCCP in Fiscal Year 2010. Ms. Zeigler understands that the new director of OFCCP, Patricia Shiu, will be in place by the time of the meeting and she should have some indication of what direction Ms. Shiu will be taking.

10:30 AM Developments at EEOC and OFCCP-New Leadership, New Resources, New Challenges

 

Jon Geier, Paul Hastings, will discuss how the EEOC, OFCCP, and the Civil Rights Division of Department of Justice are hiring more investigators and attorneys, and pledging more aggressive enforcement of the non-discrimination and civil rights laws in employment, housing and education. Jon Geier, long-time friend of ORC Worldwide and head of Paul Hastings Chicago office, will provide his insights on how these additional resources may be deployed, and discuss strategies to prepare.
