Board dismisses Boeing complaint

The National Labor Relations Board dismissed its controversial complaint against The Boeing Company after Boeing’s union requested the dismissal, the New York Times reported. The International Association of Machinists had filed the original complaint with the board over the company’s reasons for opening a new plant in South Carolina. After the company and the union settled their contract, the union asked the board to dismiss the complaint. The board’s filing of the complaint caused Senate Republicans, especially Sens. Graham and DeMint from South Carolina, to block any additional nominees to the board. Without additional members, the board will have only 2 members and will be unable to transact any business after the end of December when the recess appointment of member Craig Becker expires.
